Lot 114 Eleanor Roosevelt
Roosevelt’s rare yellow AFTRA union P&W benefits card, one page, both sides, 6 x 4, dated November 2, 1960. Pension and Welfare benefit card is filled out in type including her original full name, New York City address, birthdate and Social Security number. Signed at the bottom “Anna Eleanor Roosevelt.” Her daughter is listed in type as the recipient of her death benefits. Stamped across the front of the card is “Replaced.” Several small office notations, expected handling wear to edges, and the “Replaced” stamp obscuring portions of the document text, otherwise fine condition—the signature area remains clean. A rare example of the first lady signing with her given name.
